Caroline Lezny is an American playwright and director based in London, UK. She completed her MFA in Writing for Stage and Screen at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and her BA in Film, Television & Theatre and English at the University of Notre Dame.

Caroline is passionate about feminist retellings and boldly theatrical, challenging contemporary work. She has developed a body of work inspired by social and historical research that includes work for theatre, film, television, and digital production.

Caroline’s writing has been shortlisted for the Theatre503 International Playwriting Prize (2023), longlisted for the Academy Nicholl Fellowship in Screenwriting, and workshopped by the Theatre Royal Haymarket. She is a member of the Royal Court Theatre's 2025 Introduction to Playwriting Group. Theatres including The National Theatre and The Hampstead Theatre have expressed interest in Caroline’s plays.

Recent directorial projects include Shakespeare's Measure for Measure, William Finn's musical A New Brain, and a showcase scene study on Tony Kushner's Angels in America. Acting credits include Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady, Queenie in Lippa’s The Wild Party, Gwendolen Fairfax in The Importance of Being Earnest, and Miss Adelaide in Guys & Dolls.
